Heather Cecil, I have an awesome daughter named Kaitlyn that was born in May 2006. I grew up in Lake Orion, graduating from Lake Orion High School in 1992, and currently live in Warren. I specialize in wellness, medical conditions and cancer patients.  I enjoy music and concerts, traveling, being with family and friends, and exercising. I am a Clinical Massage Therapist that has been lucky enough to work with Van Every Family Chiropractic since fall 2002.

My training was received in 2002 at Carnegie Institute in Troy Michigan, which was a part-time year long course w/ over 800 hours of externship. I am a proud member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) since 2002.
In 2005 I took a class at Beaumont Hospitals Oncology/Hospital Massage program to further my knowledge and expand my modalities. I was hired part-time into the Integrative Medicine Dept. at Beaumont as a Clinical Therapist in 2005 and have been working with cancer patients helping them alleviate symptoms they have during their journey into recovery.

In 2007 I took Beaumont Hospitals Reiki I and II, and am currently a Reiki practitioner as well. Reiki is energy balancing which focuses on promoting health and well being. The client is fully clothed during this session while the practitioner gently places their hands in a series of positions on what are believed to be the energy pathways of the body. Contemporary research shows common responses are calmness, induced relaxation and reduction in anxiety and pain.

In 2008, I took my third course with Beaumont Hospital in Lymphatic Wellness Massage (LWM) expanding my modalities and knowledge further. LWM is a modality that focuses on the lymph system, which is a major part of the immune system and is a very delicate and superficial system of vessels and lymph nodes. The lymph system is responsible for removing toxins that tend to build up in our body which helps us fight off infections/viruses. If this fluid is restricted in any manor and the lymph system cannot perform its proper job then edema (swelling) may occur. As a LWM practitioner I help your body with stimulating the lymph system and get it flowing to help expel toxins and reduce minor swelling, that may be caused by surgery or lymphedema (a condition often caused in cancer pts due to lymph node removal). LWM can help with such conditions such as headaches/migraines, tooth, bladder or ear infections, colds and many more. LWM can be a good tool for an overall body cleanse in the average healthy body. LWM is performed in the same relaxing setting as a massage or Reiki, and is an extremely gentle and slow massage that is not involving any muscle movement and has been proven to be very relaxing.
